Dedications to Our Constant Companions

This space is dedicated to those animal relations who have passed-on.

Although we are no longer actively working with these friends during their illness or transition time, we are still able to offer prayers for their new incarnation. We would ask all those visitors to this site, who feel the call of the Mother Spirit, to also offer up prayers for those whose photos appear here.

Pookie, Brittany Spaniel

Pookie

Pookie passed away peacefully in the company of her much loved human companion Sheryl. She will be very missed by her human family for her constant and loyal companionship. Over the years she has blessed her family with times of joy, happiness and peace. These gifts have come from a heart full of unconditional love and a mind grounded in trusting innocence. May the Grace of the Mother Spirit be with our dear girl always! Amen! .+

Pookie passed on, May 2011.

Cashmere goat named Sixty-One

Sixty-One

Our dear friend of 15 years was a valued and much loved member of our family and was the best friend of Fifty-Seven (see below).

She has been such a loyal animal friend to us over the last 15 years and she and Fifty-Seven really helped us establish the block of land where we live to what it is today; blackberry and weed free.

The experience of sharing in her passing from her current incarnation was a truly inspirational time. She showed through her complete calmness and peacefulness that she was ready and willing to depart this life. Her gratitude for our efforts to relieve her of any suffering was palpable and we thank her for the example of such a generous and gracious death.

We will so miss her. I used to call out "hullo" to her each time we arrived home and she would always bleat her greetings back from wherever she was in the paddock. A real darling! May your next incarnation be truly luminous dear friend, may we meet again. With thanks to the Holy Presence and Power for uplifting us all in these times.

Sixety-One passed away 15th Feb 2011, exactly 2 years to the month from when her best mate Fifty-Seven passed away.

nina: lizard

From Michael: Nina's Meditation

Because we're Sophian and open to the light in all traditions, I was fully supportive of Nina's pagan sun worship. Being Egyptian in her origin, she kept a very devoted continuum to Ra, god of the sun. Every morning, she would slowly crawl out from her rocky den and bask in the east window terrarium I'd constructed for her. Her morning meditations were deepest in the summer, flawlessly abiding in the spiritual sun of her Being for hours. The extension of the merit of her practice was a consistent and daily dance of quickly chasing her tail three, sometimes four times sunwise. Always sunwise she turned, honoring the source of life shining upon all living things.+

Nina passed on Dec 2009.

Cashmere goat named Fifty-Seven

Fifty-Seven

This dear little friend of 13 years was a valued and much loved member of our farm's family. She is missed by all, most especially by her constant companion and fellow Cashmere, Sixty-One. Why the funny names? Well we were told by our fellow farmers, when we first moved onto the land, to never give your animals a name. That way you wouldn't become too attached to them and suffer too much when the inevitable time came. So we called them by the numbers on their ear-tags that came with them when they were first delivered to us as 3 month old kids. Goes to show when dealing with other beings, it's not the name, or the label we use that is important. Rather, it's the feeling or the intention within and behind those words that really counts. And it is natural that with some animal relations we will share a special relationship. Fifty-Seven was such an animal friend. We pray your new incarnation be auspicious little friend, may it indeed be luminous! Amen!

Fifty-Seven passed away Feb 2009.

family dog named Gertie

Gertie

Little Gertie was our family's first dog member and, as a result, she was like the first child. Completely inexperienced in bringing up dogs we wish we knew then what we know now, but such is life. She was a joy and taught us heaps. She passed from this life suddenly and without time for goodbyes and the sharing of blessings. Her son Dougal is still with us, at 15 years old, constantly reminding us how to live in the moment. We pray that her present incarnation be auspicious, may she be happy and know much love and peace, and may we meet again in bliss.
